Anybody who’s watched the Atlanta Hawks in these playoffs should know one thing: Game 1’s are their specialty. The Hawks have started off 1-0 in each of their two series, and I believe they will do it again tonight.

Atlanta is an eight-point underdog to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 and +280 odds on the moneyline, according to WynnBET. The underdog role is nothing new, though. Also, playing on the road isn’t anything the Hawks are scared of doing. Out of their four wins in the last series, three of them were on the road.

On top of that, Trae Young has scored better on the road than at home. With Bogdan Bogdonavic not being at 100%, this is the perfect opportunity for Young to put the team on his back.

For the Bucks, they haven’t necessarily been world-beaters in Game 1s this postseason. Against Miami, the Bucks needed an overtime game-winner from Khris Middleton just to escape an upset on their home floor. Against the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee lost by eight points, but the game was more of a blowout than the final score suggested.

Milwaukee is coming out of a rough series that would’ve gone the other way if Kevin Durant’s shoe was a size smaller. That combined with its tendency to not come out ready to play in Game 1s, the Bucks can be had.

Atlanta has shown they aren’t scared of anything or anyone. With Young leading them, the Hawks have all the confidence in the world, along with their skill, to take down the Bucks and start the series off on the right foot.
