Chris Paul looked like he was on his way to his first NBA title, and a Finals MVP award after the Phoenix Suns took a commanding 2-0 lead over the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals.
However, a disastrous performance in Game 4 and several turnovers later, Paul and the Suns find themselves down 3-2 heading back to Milwaukee for Game 6 on Tuesday. WynnBET has the Bucks as a 4.5-point favorite to win Game 6, and Paul’s NBA Finals dream is hanging by a thread.
CP3 bounced back on the offensive end in Game 5, as he posted 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting and added 11 assists to just one turnover. It was a much-needed performance for Phoenix, but the Suns still weren’t able to hold on to win at home.
Now, with the Bucks -400 favorites to win the series and history on their side, the Suns have to find a way to steal a game at Fiserv Forum where Milwaukee is 9-1 this postseason. It’s a tall task, but luckily for Phoenix, Paul is expected to have a big game.
WynnBET has CP3’s player prop for combined points and assists set at 30.5 in Game 6 with the over (-125) as the favorite to the under (-108). Paul hit over that number in Game 5 after going below in Games 3 and 4, so Vegas clearly expects him to stay in this form with the series on the line.
Since returning from his bout with COVID-19, Paul is averaging 22.3 points and 8.8 assists per game while shooting an impressive 47.9% from the field. The Suns are going to pull out all the stops in Game 6 to try and force the series to go the distance, so I’d expect Paul to have a heavy workload in Game 6.
Paul has gone over 30.5 points and assists in four of his last six games, so I’ll continue to back him with the Suns playing for their NBA Finals lives in Game 6.
