It doesn’t seem like Aaron Rodgers is showing up to minicamp anytime soon for the Green Bay Packers. In the meantime, the Packers have an opportunity to see what they have in 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love.

But if today’s practice was any indication, the Packers don’t have much.

Love botched a pass to a wide-open Malik Taylor in practice on Tuesday. Love was running the two-minute offense and threw the ball over Taylor’s head on fourth-and-7, causing the drive to stall out.

The Packers saw something good enough in Love’s time at Utah State that made them trade up in the first round to take him. However, due to Aaron Rodgers still playing at an MVP level (and winning the award in 2020), Love hasn’t seen any game action. Love had a few good moments during OTAs, however today was not reflective of that.

Now that Rodgers and the team are in a standoff, Love has a chance to step in and prove his skills. Yet, the presumed third string quarterback, Blake Bortles, is making the case that he should be above the young signal caller.

Bortles was able to complete the two-minute drill with a touchdown, while Love struggled to complete passes. Throughout the session, Love only completed a little over half of his passes.

Due to the fact that Aaron Rodgers is still on the roster, the Packers are still expected to make noise in the NFC.

WynnBET has the Packers as the overwhelming favorites (-300) to win the division. The next closest team is the Minnesota Vikings with +300 odds to win the division. Whether Rodgers reports and plays is yet to be seen, but the Packers might be in trouble if Love has to fill his shoes.
