When Joe Burrow went down with a torn ACL last year, the Bengals’ season went downhill. Cincinnati was one of the worst offensive teams in the league last year. It was ranked 27th in the league in passing yards per game at 215.5 yards. Scoring wise, the Bengals were even worse. Their 19.4 points per game was ranked 29th in the league.
Burrow is back this season and the weapons he has at his disposal are set for a big year. The main target, Tee Higgins, is set to expand on his promising rookie campaign.
WynnBET has his odds to lead the league in receiving yards set at +5000. Higgins had a very successful rookie season. He caught 67 passes for 908 yards and 6 touchdowns. Higgins and the rest of the Bengals played a majority of the season with Burrow, and was able to build chemistry for this upcoming season.
Despite not scoring that often, the Bengals still found ways to be competitive and Higgins was a big part of that.
Higgins’ biggest competition will be Cincinnati’s first-round draft pick, Ja’Marr Chase. Despite being a rookie, Chase’s odds aren’t that far from Higgins’. Chase has +6000 odds to lead the league in receiving and has already begun gaining steam as one of Burrow’s favorite options.
Chase and Burrow played together at LSU and had quite the final season in 2019. Chase had 84 catches for 1,780 yards. He decided to opt out of the 2020 season, leaving those numbers as his final impression.
Although he and Burrow have that connection, don’t overlook Higgins to make a legitimate name for himself in 2021.
