The Washington Football Team signed Ryan Fitzpatrick this offseason to try and stabilize its offense. According to WynnBET, the Team will need all the “Fitzmagic” it can get.
WynnBET is predicting that Washington will be one of the biggest contenders to have the lowest scoring offenses in the league. Washington has +20000 odds, tied for dead-last, to lead the league in scoring.
Washington was near the bottom of the league in all the major offensive categories last season. It was 25th in scoring (21.1) and passing yards (220.8) and 26th (99.8) in rushing yards.
The Football Team is led by its defense, specifically its defensive line. With Chase Young and Montez Sweat leading that group, most of Washington’s wins will come from their contributions.
As for the offense, Fitzpatrick should help a great deal of things and his connection with Terry McLaurin will be the key to unlocking a dynamic offense. Last season, McLaurin was the bright spot for the passing game. He had 87 receptions, 1,118 yards and four touchdowns. If he and Fitzpatrick can start out on the right foot, they could help Washington stay on pace to repeat as division champions.
Washington should also get a boost from second-year running back Antonio Gibson. As a rookie, he amassed over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns. The Football Team is expected to use him more in 2021, which should help provide another weapon for Fitzpatrick.
McLaurin and Gibson will be the two dynamic threats for Washington, but with questions about the offensive line and how consistent Fitzpatrick will end up being, it could be left near the bottom of the league hoping its defense will save it again.
